Introduction

Welcome to my student portfolio! My name is Carlos Rodriguez Cobar and I am excited to share with you the work that I have completed in the Social Sciences class with Professor Jennifer Buño. Throughout this semester, I have engaged in a variety of thought-provoking assignments that have challenged me to think critically and creatively about the world around me.

In this portfolio, you will find five assignments that I have completed over the semester. The first assignment is a self-assessment where I reflect on my learning goals and evaluate my progress in achieving them.

The second assignment is the personal artifact essay, where I explore the significance of an object that holds personal meaning to me.

The third assignment is the subculture research essay, where I conduct an in-depth analysis of a subculture that interests me.

The fourth assignment is the classmate interview essay, where I interview one of my classmates, Runkang, about a subculture he is part of, and gain insight into his experiences and perspectives.

Finally, the fifth assignment is the mini-ethnography, where I engage in participant observation and fieldwork to describe and understand the subculture I already researched (Homemade Korean Food).

I hope that this portfolio provides you with a deeper understanding of my growth as a student throughout the semester. Thank you for taking the time to view my work.
